The Messy Church Australia Team are excited to host the second National Messy Church conference – although for the first time online!
What a great opportunity to gather as a team, not worry about the hassle of travel and be refreshed and inspired for a new year of messy ministry!
You could:
Gather your Messy Church team at church to participate together.
Connect with other nearby Messy Church teams & meet as a local hub (please ensure you follow your COVID-safe requirements)
Encourage (and pay for) young people to attend & be ready to hear their ideas.
Register early to book your spot and to be kept up to date with all the latest details!
Come along, join in the fun and let’s ‘refresh the mess’!

Speakers
Lucy Moore
Guest speakerLucy Moore, founder and team leader of Messy Church, will be our guest speaker as part of the Closing Session. This means a VERY early start for Lucy – will she need coffee or will a cup of tea be enough? Lucy will share about her passion for Messy Church and the 5 values along with some Messy Church news from around the globe. We look forward to hearing from Lucy! (15mins)

Workshop A: RE engage RE consider RE connectAs our church communities wrestle with the continuing uncertainty of Covid normal this workshop makes space to ponder together what we have lost and what we have learned during this time of isolation. We will explore how the Messy Church values can shape the way we reengage, reconsider and reconnect as communities of faith. This workshop will also include practical tools and activities you can use to facilitate this process in your Messy Church community.

Workshop B: Mission Beyond Messy ChurchBack in March 2020 the closure of church buildings took Christians by surprise. All forms of gathered church community including Messy Church came to an abrupt stop. We have had to be imaginative in how we are Messy Church. While some have found it too hard, others have done MC online, or MC in a bag, used resources like Messy Church at Home, while others have let their imagination go wild. The exciting thing is that we have all adapted and changed in some ways. But what is God calling us to beyond the mess? Maybe this is the time to look at other fresh expressions of Messy Church, to reach out to more people and spread the good news of Jesus? How do we look inside and outside our Messy Church and see the possibilities of where God might be calling us to next, or where God is already at work and we can go join in?
